A bunch of updates
Updated: Apr 21, 2019
MAN, there's a lot to get through here today! So much, that I'll probably forget some important stuff, so bear with me...
First up, the casks. Yep, those ones up there at the top of the page. It did feel at one point like we'd never get to the point where they would actually be in our possession, but there they are. We now have the kit, the capability and (hopefully) the skill to start filling these bad boys, which means that they may be coming to a pub near you soon. I'd also like to say thanks to the folks at Brewery Plastics in Hereford as well, for getting the second batch of casks to us so quickly. Great service all round - far better than the crowd who sent the first batch out and who shall remain unnamed at this point in time...
The next thing to announce - or re-announce I guess - is the new homebrewing supplies that we're now selling from the brewery. As you may have seen last week on our Facebook page, we are now stocking a small selection of hops and grain for general sale, so that you too can start brewing your own beer at home (just don't get too good at it - we don't want you stealing our thunder!)
We had a look at what is available locally and it seemed to us that there was a gap in the market. The closest dedicated homebrew shop is in Glasgow and the only alternative to traipsing into town, is to order online. We're hoping that budding homebrewers in Dumbarton and the surrounding area will see us another option and come to us for their sundries instead. We are also planning to sell the same items online too, so even if you don't live locally and you'd like to support us, you can. Currently we have some hops listed on our eBay page, but our own eShop should be live pretty soon...
Here's a list of what we currently have in stock for sale. All online prices include P&P:
It's a fairly small selection of items just now, but the plan is to expand on this at some point in the future. If there's anything you'd like to see us stock specifically, get in touch and we'll be glad to help. You can either comment below, on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, or drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While I'm on the subject of our own online store - we are aware that some of you in the more far flung areas of the world (outside of Dumbarton, that is!) are interested in buying beer from us this way and having it shipped direct to you. We can only apologise for the delay in getting this set up. It all comes down to shipping at the moment - not many couriers will carry glass, liquids or alcohol and combining all three and keeping the cost as low as possible is proving difficult. Suffice to say, we are still working on it and as soon as we can reach a good resolution for everyone, we'll make an announcement!
And I think that's enough rambling from me for now! Again, if there is anything at all that any of you would like to chat with us about, please get in touch. You'll find one of us at the unit randomly through the week at the moment - unfortunately, we're still quite a small operation at the moment, so real life and work is getting in the way - but we are open every Saturday from 11am until 3pm, so feel free to pop in for a visit!
